Anita Kopec Joins New ED Tech Unit at WordWise

WordWise Inc. is pleased to announce that Anita Kopec will be joining the company as manager of our newly formed Educational Technology unit - WordWise Tech.

Ms. Kopec is well qualified to take on this position, having a strong background and varied experience in the ed tech market, including extensive experience in product development. A veteran in the educational arena, Anita has worked with start-ups as well as well established educational companies in the areas of product research, product development, strategic planning, funding, marketing and sales.

Over her career in educational publishing Ms. Kopec has held top level positions and led product development at several companies including Computer Curriculum Corporation, Simon and Schuster, Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, Ignite! and Scientific Learning. She was also President, CEO of Steck-Vaughn Publishing Company. While at CCC, Anita was responsible for the development of SuccessMaker, a then revolutionary technology product that opened a closed ILS system and allowed teachers to have an active role in integrating technology into their everyday classroom activities.

We are confident that Anita's understanding of the unique nature and intricacies of producing technology product will enhance WordWise Tech's ability to work with clients, contractors, and partners to ensure seamless product development; on-time, on-budget and on-target. Anita shares WordWise's reputation for high standards of quality in every aspect of product development.

Ms. Kopec holds a B.S. in Education from the University of Akron, and has completed post Graduate work at Harvard University Graduate School of Education and Chicago School of Business. She was a classroom teacher for eight years; has spoken at education, software and investor conferences; has guest lectured at Stanford University; was on the Education Foundation Advisory Council for the State of Florida for two years and since 1996 has been on the Education Foundation Advisory Council for the University of Texas. Ms. Kopec has served on several boards including Aspire, SIIA, Literacy Austin, Giggles, Inc., 4empowerment, Inc., HOSTS Learning, and Learning.com.
